About the Foundation

The Dalai Lama Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to help create global capacity for ethics and peace, base on a non-sectarian ethic of compassion, as described by His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama.
The Foundation uses both unpaid volunteers and paid staff to undertake projects world-wide. A small central staff in Palo Alto, California (USA) coordinates the efforts. There are chapters in Russia, Canada and Japan who further our work there.

We also provide online capabilities for some of our partner organizations, and we collaborate with them on many projects.
